Lay Em Down

Hello Friends,

You know....we Moms are funny creatures. We just can't let stuff go. We're particular about our homes, our kids, and our plans. We also tend to be HUGE worriers. I have no idea what it is about having children, but all of a sudden you can find yourself worrying about EVERYTHING! Such anxiety! And it can be over the smallest things!

But sometimes it's over big stuff...like health issues and finances, or plans and dreams for your new little family. Sometimes you can be so consumed with worry that it leads to serious anxiety problems and mental and emotional instability. I know. Having all of my children so close together has led to quite a bit of Postpartum and even Antepartum Depression for me.{We'll chat more about that in another post.} I have found myself constantly worrying about so many things at times.

Through it all, I know that God has been with me, and I know that He says "...give me your troubles".

“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

~1 Peter 5:6-7

I know the above scripture to be true. But sometimes it's so hard to lay my troubles at the feet of Jesus. As a mom, I just want to pick everything back up, knowing that I will surely find a way to take care of it myself. But no...I can't do a single thing without God.

And you can't either.

You can't do a single thing for your life and the lives of your children without God. We need Him to work in our lives, and on our behalf. We can literally make ourselves sick worrying about every single little thing. And are we truly being faithful when we worry so much? Are we really trusting in God's plans for our lives, trusting that He really has it all covered? I don't think so. I know sweet mama, it's so hard to lay your troubles down and let it all go. I struggle with it every day. But think on 1 Peter 5:6-7 and know that God has us all in His hands. He is more than capable of taking care of all of your problems...big and small. Please don't let worry and anxiety steal your Mommy Joy. Whenever you find yourself growing weak, turn to the Word and be comforted.

"Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad."

~Proverbs 12:25

Give your troubles to Jesus....and don't take them back.
